PENGARUH PERTIMBANGAN SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES TERHADAP INTENSI PEMILIHAN VENUE DI KALANGAN PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE ORGANIZER DAN PROFESSIONAL EVENT ORGANIZER

Abstract

As the Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) sector in Indonesia continues to expand, awareness of the importance of reducing negative environmental impacts has emerged among various stakeholder groups. Choosing a venue that has incorporated sustainable practices is a crucial step in implementing MICE with environmental considerations. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the attitudes of MICE industry decision-makers toward the issue of sustainable practices and to assess the impact of this on behavior intention when selecting venues for MICE activities.  To accomplish this goal, this study conducted an online (supervised) survey of meeting planners on Professional Conference Organizers (PCO) and Professional Event Organizers (PEO) who are members of company associations operating in the MICE industry. According to the research findings, most meeting planners have a favorable opinion of sustainable practices. Furthermore, it was also discovered that the variable of sustainable practices had a significant impact on the intention to select a venue for conducting MICE events. Finally, this study suggests that the dissemination and acceptance of environmentally friendly MICE practices among industrial stakeholders should focus on the meeting planner group at the middle to upper managerial levels
